QUALITY STANDARDS FOR KCC

ALL items that do not meet our standards will NOT BE ACCEPTED during receiving. Pre-inspect ALL your items PRIOR to preparing them for the sale. Please don’t be offended if we ask you to take back some of your items. We will be checking very closely so as to maintain the quality of the sale.

Do not bring items that are…

Stained, torn, faded, worn, piled (fuzz balls)
Missing buttons/snaps, or have broken zippers
Smell of smoke or moth balls
Have pet hair. Lint roll items with pet hair prior to dropping off.
Equipment that has soiled straps or missing straps
Items that have food or waste residue on them
Outdoor Toys/Equipment excessively spotted
Missing pieces unless clearly labeled on the tag what is missing
Tires and other items must be properly inflated.
Nothing that looks OLD or Unsafe. MUST check items for recalls!

REGARDING RECALLS

It is the CONSIGNOR’S RESPONSIBILITY, as seller of the items, to make sure none of their items have been recalled. Each consignor will be required to bring a signed waiver to drop-offs accepting the liability of the items they bring, and stating they have ensured that none of their items are recalled or do not meet safety standards. The easiest way to check for a recall is to call the manufacturer directly, or to look the item up on the manufacturer’s website. You can also call or use the CPSC (Consumer Product and Safety Commission) website to check for recalls at http://www.cpsc.gov/en/Recalls/

PREPARING NON CLOTHING ITEMS

Large items “New in Box”: MUST be set up to ensure all pieces are included.
Equipment/Furniture: Will need to be set up securely.
Batteries in Items: Are required for all LARGE equipment such as bouncy seats, electronic pack n’ plays, exersaucers, jumperoos, walkers, etc. Place inexpensive batteries in your toys to help them sell better. Adding 50 cents to your items can reimburse your supply cost, while improving your chances of selling that item.

**You must bring at least 15 children’s items or more to be a consignor and participate in our Preview Sale, otherwise there is no minimum required.

SPECIALTY/BOUTIQUE ITEMS

We have a “Specialty/Boutique”, higher end ~ brand name clothing section, including shoes! These specialty clothing items must be in “Like New” condition or they will be displayed with regular clothing items. When bringing these sale items to receiving, we ask that you separate by size/sex order from your other clothing. *Below is a list of some of the “Name Brands” we are looking for, you may have others.

CLOTHING ITEMS

Don’t forget that we have a special section for Easter clothes/décor during our Spring sale and a special section for Christmas/Halloween clothes & décor during our Fall sale! We always have a separate section for Auburn/Alabama clothes and Sportswear.

Children’s Clothes: We accept newborn up to a kid’s size 20. All clothes must be current styles and appropriate for the upcoming season. MUST use number sizes such as 0, 3mo, or 3-6mo., 6mo., 2t, 5, 12, 16, 20, etc.. ~ No Exceptions!

NOTE: Onesies must be sold in groups of 2 or more per hanger unless a specialty item.

UNIFORMS

Now accepting local private and public school uniforms, seasonal appropriate! This includes "spirit wear" such as dances teams, cheerleader, choral group, etc.

LADIES BOUTIQUE CLOTHING & PURSES

Now accepting ladies BOUTIQUE clothing in current, trendy styles ONLY. Sizes are 0 to 16 ONLY. Must be hung on 18 inch hangers. Using the 16 inch hanger will result in your clothes ending up on the floor! Here is a list of boutique brands but you are not limited to just these.

JUNIOR GIRLS AND YOUNG MEN’S GUIDELINES

Please know we cannot list all the name brands that we accept. As long as your item is clean, free of smells, has no holes and is a current style, we may accept it.

Junior items should represent the CURRENT trends of our older children. We have gathered a list of most current junior brands. Junior sizes include XS, S, M, L, XL. You may use this on the tag “size” at top right corner of tag.

Boys shirts ~ accept men’s small, medium and large as long as they are the names brands below!

Waist size jeans, pants, & shorts are accepted too: for example ~ 26/32 or 32/34.

If sized with a # they must be 1/2, 00, 0, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, & 15. (Use the size # on the tag). No even sizes, as these are considered Misses sizes. If any of the brands below are an even size, such as GAP & Old Navy, just mark as XS, S, M, L, XL.

IMPORTANT~ No matter what other items you consign ~ you MUST BRING the following items the FIRST time you check in during receiving: children’s shoes, maternity clothes, and scrubs. This is the only way we can make sure that each consignor only brings the limited number for each of these items.

*T-Shirts: Popular name brands (Nike, Adidas, Gap, etc.) or dept. store brands in solid colors, college logo, or trendy prints (camo, etc.). and athletic wear (Under Armor, etc.). No rec. league or VBS church t-shirts accepted.

Shoes: Kid’s shoes only ~ infant sizes ~ up to bigger size 9/10. The larger sizes must be teen appropriate to wear! Must be in “like new” condition, scrubbed clean, and TAGGED correctly(see tagging instructions for NEW tagging). LIMIT~ 6 pair of regular shoes per contributor ~ 6 pair for boys & 6 pair for girls. *May contribute more if you allow them to be donated at end of sale!

KID’S ITEMS

Toys, DVD’s, books, children’s educational items, electronic toys (must have working batteries!), games & puzzles (no missing pieces!), blocks/Lego’s, picture frames ~ only “Theme” related for kids ~ holidays, birthdays, sports, etc.; arts/crafts (only new, in original packaging with exception of art easel and over the lap plastic art tray), battery operated stuffed toys only (like new condition!), Activity mats ~ MUST be in original bag or secured with zip ties with no missing attachments, bikes, outdoor play items, push toys, riding toys, wagons, doll houses, toy kitchens, tool benches, & sports items.

Baby equipment/furniture: Car seats, strollers, high chairs, exersaucers, walkers, jump-ups, bouncy/booster seats, potty chairs, like new bathtubs, swings, bassinets, baby gates/bed rails, cribs (NO drop side), toddler beds, bunk beds, kids dressers, kids table & chairs, kids chairs, kids desks, stools, pack-in-plays, changing tables, & crib mattresses.

Misc. Items: Hats, bibs, belts, socks, boys ties, girls bows. MUST place in a Ziploc with tag inside, secure top with clear packing tape. Burp cloths; infant towels; lap pads; receiving blankets; May place in Ziploc with tag inside, secure top with clear packing tape.

Other Items: Nursing (Boppy) pillows; baby carriers/shopping cart sear covers; baby monitors; safety items; bottles & bottle warmers; breast pumps,(we are NOT responsible for stolen items); diapers & diaper warmers; diaper bags; girls purses; backpacks (clean!); lunch boxes; cups; plates; luggage; bath items (must be new in original package).

Children’s Bedding: limited ~ Will accept the following ONLY ~ crib/pack-n-play sheets; infant bedding ~ may sell in sets with matching (mesh only) bumper pad, comforter, bed skirt, NO individual bumpers pads sold; mattress pads/covers; changing table covers; children’s twin/full comforters/sheets ONLY; baby & kids blankets; nap mats; sleeping bags. These items must be in clean, like new condition. May place in XL Ziploc or shrink wrapped.

HOUSEHOLD ITEMS

Household Furniture (both indoor/outdoor); antiques; tables & chairs; old wooden window frames; odd chairs; stools; bunk beds,; twin/full beds; nightstands,; ice chests; dressers; bookcases; rugs (clean, like new condition); luggage ~ only high end ~ current styles or true antiques; trunks; cedar chests; clocks; vacuum cleaners ~ must be in “like New” condition and WORK; Flat screen TV (must be Very New model!); pet items; exercise equipment; filing cabinets (metal or wood); plastic filing containers/organizers; letter/desk organizers; *Any NEW, in the Original box, electronics will be accepted (computers, printers, keyboards, game stations).

Children’s Décor: We will accept children’s lamps; rugs; wall décor; decorative pillows (must be Clean & Current styles!); picture frames that have a theme ~ holidays, birthday, sports, etc.

Kitchen items~ only complete sets (4 or more) of dishes, silverware, or glasses; also accept serving dishes; pitchers; cookware (like new); Tupperware; canisters; the following items MUST be VERY CLEAN ~ blenders; toaster ovens; microwave ovens; coffee makers. The following Must be new in original packaging or LIKE NEW~ placemats, napkins/napkin rings, table clothes, kitchen towels, or oven mitts. We accept both small/large refrigerators and washers/dryers in good working condition!

Bedding/Bath Items: Bedding items ( Current Styles!!) ~ NEW in original package or “like new”~ bedspreads, sheets, curtains. Bath items ~ New in original package or tag still attached ~ shower curtains, bath rugs, etc.

Household décor (both indoor & outdoor) ~ Easter, July 4th, decorations; lamps; lamp shades; framed pictures/prints or canvas paintings; only specialty picture frames or those that have a “theme” ~ holiday, birthday, sports, wedding, “family”, etc.; only “specialty” vases; new candles; larger “specialty” baskets; decorative bowls; wall plaques & iron art; clocks; curtains (new in original package); floral arrangements ~ holiday theme or “upscale” current décor; decorative pillows ~ Must be CLEAN and CURRENT styles (nothing over a 3 years old)!!

SOMETHING for the GUYS!!

We would like to give the men (and interested ladies of course) some “Specific” items to shop for during the sale! We are looking for GOOD QUALITY USED TOOLS. Hand tools, power tools, ladders, shop vacs, etc. Looking for QUALITY Name brand power tools (Porter Cable, Bosh, Makita, Delta, Festool, Powermatic, Dewalt, etc). We had a few at the last sale and they were scooped up quickly! The tools MUST BE TESTED and in good working order before bringing them to receiving. NOTE!! We WILL NOT accept any cheap, salvage, customer returns, flea market, etc type tools so please don’t bring them.

If you have larger tools (table saws, band saws, etc,) please call before you bring them to make sure there is help to unload.

When preparing for the sale ~ keep the following in mind:

• Working batteries MUST be included in all battery operated items.
•  Children’s DVD’s must have covers ~ if not, will be donated!
•  PLEASE check DVD’s to make sure they are in the correct case and for scratches because they may not play!
•  For safety concerns cribs, pack-in-plays, baby swings, etc. MUST be fully assembled by contributor at receiving and any accompanying small items securely attached! Broken/dirty/stained equipment IS NOT acceptable!!
• PLEASE double check games & puzzles to make sure they are complete ~ NO MISSING PIECES!
•  Make sure any electronic items work like new and have all necessary components.
