TAGGING & PREPARING SALE ITEMS

*IMPORTANT NEW RULE*:  If you want your unsold items RETURNED after the sale you must put a CAPITAL RED "R" in the upper left corner of your tag!  We no longer require the yellow X for donated items, if you do not put the red "R" on your tags they will be donated.(It is OK if some of your tags still have the yellow X)  Any unsold merchandise without a red "R" on the tag will automatically be donated.  *If you prefer, you may write all information on tags in red ink to avoid changing to a RED pen for consignors putting the RED "R" on tags.

 

    

 

*ANY OLD TAGS used before we began our barcode system ARE NOT acceptable, they must be replaced with the newer standard tags! Choose one of the below options- A, B, or C for creating your KCC tags, on which you will later affix your barcode labels.  Do not change the size or shape of these tags, they should be no larger or smaller than a 3X5 index card! 

 

A) Index Cards-- HANDWRITE on a 3" x 5" (ONLY) index card in vertical orientation See above illustration.  *You do not have to write Size/Description on tag, just put info. where it belongs.


B) KCC Tag Template--enter size/desc. info and print on 8.5" x 11" cardstock (6 per page)


C) KCC Tag Template--print on 8.5" x 11" cardstock for HAND WRITTEN tags

 

     *Consignors tag and price all of their own items. Please  read carefully and follow instructions on how to tag your items below. If each consignor tags their items the same way, Kids Clothes Connection continues to be an organized, easy to shop consignment sale. We appreciate your attention to details as you prepare your items!  

     TAGS:  We must have a tag for each item sold, ONE TAG PER ITEM ONLY!!  DO NOT put a barcode label on an item separate from tag*Also, put a piece of masking tape/sticky label with code# only(separate from tag) inside of your garments and on all other items.  This is for your protection should an item lose a tag. (Do not put the tape on your tag!)  ANY SALE ITEMS, WITHOUT A SEPARATE PIECE OF TAPE W / CODE # THAT LOSES A TAG, WILL BE SOLD AT KCC'S DISCRETION(proceeds donated to a charity) AND THAT CONSIGNOR CANNOT EXPECT TO RECEIVE CREDIT FOR THESE ITEMS.  *If you have an item with several separate parts or pieces, please put tape/sticky label with code# on each piece and attach to tagged item.

*For security reasons we now recommend that any clothing items priced over $10 should have clear packing tape placed across the top of the safety pin and tag(fold excess tape around each side of tag).  Tags that cannot be pinned to items priced higher than $10 should be secured with extra clear packing tape.

 

 

To attach tags to clothing, use MEDIUM or LARGE safety pins only--no small gold safety pins(tags don't stay attached) or straight pins(may hurt someone) .  Attach tag to right side of hanging garment as you are looking at the front of garment. *SETS: Place top over hanger then pin pant/skirt from each side of waist band to the back of the hanger at the shoulders 

 

  

PRICE

 

 RULE OF THUMB:   Price items to sell! *1/3 to 1/4 of original price.  Remember, A BIGGER check with fewer returned items is BEST!  *No items priced below $1.00. Pricing begins at $1.00 (i.e. $1.00, $1.50, $2.00, etc.), if items are priced at $1.75 or $1.25 they will be marked down to $1.50/$1.00 accordingly.  On discount days consignors will determine at the time they order barcode labels if items can be discounted.  Items that consignors are not willing to discount will have "NO DISCOUNT" printed on the labels.  Do not change price or mark out NO DISCOUNT on barcode labels.  This will VOID sale.  Must change out entire tag with new label!

 

SIZE

   

Item sizes are written in upper right corner of tag.  Label clothing items with its specific NUMBER size, indicated in the chart below.  If the vendor tag reads S (small), M (medium), L (large), or XL (extra-large), please use your best judgment in selecting the appropriate NUMBER to represent your item's size.  May use "S-M-L-XL" sizing on tags for maternity clothing and hospital scrubs only!  Please note the following sizes as options for your tags:



INFANTS:

preemie, newborn(NB), 3 mos., 3-6mos., 6 mos., 6-9mos., 9mos, 12 mos., 18 mos., 24 mos.

 

TODDLERS:

2T, 3T, 4T

 

CHILDRENS:

4, 5, 6, 6X, 7, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 

 

JUNIORS:

0,1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13

 

 

MATERNITY:

 may use S, M, L, for sizing

 

ITEM

   

MUST Describe each item on center section of the tag.  Be VERY descriptive and use brand names if applicable.  *Please indicate on tag if clothing item is girls, boys, Jr's., or maternity.

 

HANGER

   

 

Use METAL hangers only on all articles of clothing.  No plastic or vinyl/rubber coating on metal base hangers(they will not slide on racks!).  With garment facing you, the hanger hook should look like a question mark(?) curving to the left.  Clothing not accepted in Ziploc bags, ONSIES should be on hangers.  *Please call before buying hangers that might not be acceptable!

 

PANTS

   

 

Pants, shorts, and skirts should be opened up lengthwise (not folded) and pinned with MEDIUM or LARGE safety pins, at waist band, to the upper bars on each side of hanger.  The FRONT of the pants/skirt should be facing you.  *DO NOT PIN ACROSS BOTTOM OF HANGER! (See illustration)  DO NOT use SMALL safety pins, clothes will not stay attached and end up on dirty floor!  No straight pins or clothespins.

 

SORT

   

Items for the sale will be taken on specified "Receiving Days" only.  Before you arrive, clothes must be sorted, tied and labeled by size and sex.  NO EXCEPTIONS!   If you have just a few items of different sizes, have them in order by size and sex.  We will not put clothing items in order for you.  Please organize them ahead of time so that workers can quickly assist you in checking and then hanging up your items.  All other items should be grouped together(i.e. toys in a bag/box; shoes in a bag/box). Please use a disposable container such as a bag or box instead of a plastic container that you may want returned, this will speed up checking thru your items!
